- Hey, Eddie, you mumbled somthing about AmigaOS on 23-Feb-96 16:27:44?
- E> I would like to relate to you my experience with computers as a whole over
- E> the past 8 months or so. I have a A1200 at home (2nd hand - and the hasrd
- E> drive head crash is a pain :-(( ) and a A500. I have always loved the
- E> Amiga and wish I could use it at work.
-
- E> At work, I am using a PC 486 blah de blah with Win95! Now, Win95 is an
- E> improvement on Win 3.11. It's MacOS 89 but... Anyway, having used this
- E> for 8 months now, I was getting quite use to the system. Nice colours
- E> etc...
-
- E> Then, one day, In a little bit of spare time I now have. I powered up my
- E> Amiga (other than to play Hired Guns - I just can't get my girlfriend away
- E> from it!!!) Workbench loaded. 4 colours - uhh I thought - this is ugly!!
-
- E> Then it hit me. I was slowly turning into a PC user, my brains had
- E> started melting and beginning to run outta my ears. There was one thing
- E> for it - hit the shell, spawn many processes and *USE* the OS.
-
- E> I was lucky - I caught this syndrome just before it got bad. Don't let
- E> the PC syndrome catch you. Make sure that you use the OS every now and
- E> again if you have to use a PC at work. It may just save your charisma,
- E> sanity and life :-)
-
- Or just sacrifice your PC for your Amiga - I got a PC bought for me so I
- could use it for college work. It was a pretty good one, 700 quids worth.
- Then I thought, hang on, I only use Pascal and Word fer Windows, why do I
- need all this speed. I'm selling it for not much less than I bought it, and
- building a much older, slower one - the result is I still have a PC to get
- angry and frustrated at, but I have 400 quid in my pocket as well to buy a
- CD-Rom drive and a new monitor. Bargain!
